NOTD: water marble art!

So through youtube i have seen MANY, MANY, MANY tutorials on all sorts but i find it hard to get good nail tutorial that is original. But when i came across this water marble nail art tutorial i was actually so amazed!
isnt this the most bazarrrrr thing you have ever seen even though it takes a while it is suprisingly easy.

these colours are just perfect for spring with the pastels and i found that the most effective nail polishes are O.P.I (most but not all) and BarryM (again not all)

here are the more detailed instructions but if you dont understand i did a video on it.

Fill a cup or glass with water, almost to the lip 90% full. it must be at room temp. Add the colours of your choice by placing each drop gently onto the surface of the water. Nail polish is an important element in marbling.
The nail polish should be of good quality and of a liquid even consistancy. Poorer quality polish of inconsistant texture will not result in the desired effect.
Use a pin, tooth pick, orange stick or needle, dragging it from one edge to the other to create the desired look. Experiment, have fun!

Insert the nail or tip into the water.
Remove the excess nail polish on the water while the tip is submerged. This is key to the success of this type of marbling.
Remove any excess polish from the surrounding skin using a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

Apply a top coat, wash the hand, then apply an essential oil moisturiser to the skin to prevent drying.

Another thing I can add is avoid quick drying nail polish and while it is best to be in a well ventilated area when working with nail polish, a windy enviroment will cause the nail polish to dry too quickly. Experiment with your work enviroment to find the optimum spot.

hope this helped i have only done it a few times and found it fairly easy so try it out!

Lots of love,
Mille xoxo

Review: Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

There has been so much hype around this foundation on YouTube lately so a few weeks ago I went and picked it up at my local Boots. This foundation claims to be a anti-fatigue foundation an normally I am really worried about trying these kinds of foundation as I do have combination/oily skin. After trying this foundation for around a month I thought I would do a short review, the only bad thing about this foundation is it is REALLY sparkly! And the thing is when you first apply it it seems like there is no shimmer at all however when your face is placed under artificial lighting, you look like a disco ball! However this can easily be fixed by either mixing your foundation with a moisturiser or powdering over the top to take away some of the shimmer. Other than this problem this foundation is AMAZING! It stays looking perfect for about 7 hours and then after it starts to breakdown however this is still a long time and it can easily be fixed with a few touch ups! I believe that everyone should try this foundation as its around £8/£9 and it is worth it, any disadvantages can easily be fixed however I don't think it is the best on the market, it is still a really good bargain purchase! Lots of Love, Emily xoxo

MY BIRTHDAY

So yesterday (11th may) was my birthday! so i thought i would share most of my experience with you! But it is mainly just my birthday party. I had a great day and enjoyed it all. The presents, the messages and just on a whole the day.

In the morning i opened all my presents from my family (however was a little late for school hehe)

Then i had school bla bla bla and then i came home with 5 other friends to my cup cake party. A lady that makes cupcakes called 'the cookery angel' came over to teach us how to make and decorate the cupcakes. we all git a choice to have chocolate or vanilla flavoured and all but two did the vanilla.

then the other two did the yummy chocolate batter (emily did the chocolate and i did vanilla)
while these were cooking we made lemonade! none of us had ever done this so it was fairly..... interesting ;)

we then made fruit drizzled with CHOCOLATE yum yum and left them to cool in the fridge.
finally we got to the fun part we decorated the cupcakes!! we all wanted pink so that's we did and they all looked so pretty!

we made 6 each and mine are the 6 on the right but aren't they all gorgeous.
They weree all super pretty and i think that everyone loved it and on the plus side they tasted great!

Last of all my family and i went out for dinner and i had a lovely jubbly lasagna - even thought i was stuffed from all the cup cake icing :) hahaa

thank you lots of love

The Lush soaps i have been loving

Hi there,

I have been really enjoying my lush soaps and cant help myself to them! The two i have been obsessed with are called sea vegetable and porridge. Both are £2.95 per 100g which i think is pretty good to be honest!

This soap is a gentle exfoliant and I find very good for every day use as it is soft and calming on my skin. This soap is amazing the oats feel great and it is so milky just like porridge hence the name ;) I didn't really know how to explain it but here is the website explanation:

The pinhead oats we’ve packed into this soap not only give off lovely cooling oatmilk, but they also give a knobbly texture that acts as a great body scrub. Oats are one of the most fabulous cosmetic ingredients. They have been used for hundreds of years for all sorts of skin complaints. We love them and we use them as much as we can. Daddy, mummy and baby bears will all benefit from Porridge Soap. The fragrance is a deep sweet smell, to make you think of molasses and early mornings in the winter.

As the last sea vegetable is an exfoliator however I think it is a little stronger and I personally wouldn't use this every day. Even though it doesn't have an amazing smell it does wonders for your skin and is perfect for me. Website explanation:

The handfuls of seaweed in this soap don’t just look stunning, they are mineral rich and skin softening. You’ll start to feel the effects as you’re washing. This is the perfect soap for banishing nasties due to the sea salt and antiseptic lavender oil. It's not just strands of seaweed in this, it also has seaweed absolute and an amazing perfume. This soap sets the standards that others have to beat. We once supplied the whole of Glastonbury Festival with Sea Vegetable. They were searching for something to help people stay safely clean after using the toilets, without leaving horrid chemicals on the cow fields afterwards.

favourite nail polishes of the moment!

HELLOO!

I have been obsessed with nails these few weeks and even though I'm not meant to have it on at school :S i still wear it more or less every day haha. Really I'm not into colourful nail polish that often but recently i have been obsessed. I find that (and i know it sounds cheesy but...) nail polish inspires me and some times even motivates me and lifts my day! I am here to talk about four colours that i love.
They are from left to right, Max Factor's 45 Fantasy f]Fire, BarryM's Mint Green, BarryM's Berry Ice Cream and Topshop's Pool Party. Now i am surprised myself that NONE of these are O.P.I! it is very rare for me not to wear O.P.I as i love them and they always look good but i haven't been able to easily get them recently and i was in need of a switch  up with the nail colours! All of my colours are either a boring pink or red and the occasional blue but i have been loving the block colours and most of my O.P.I's are shimmery. Not what i was wanting so i popped to my local high street to find some spring colours.

I have to yet try this one (as i got it yesterday) but i am in love with the colour and i have nothing like it. this colour is the perfect lilac that I'm sure will  look beautiful on the nails.
Yes it is new too haha (how could i refuse two for £5.00) I have been wanting a mint green nail polish for a while and i even bought mint green jeans... did i take it a little too far? Haha again i have never tried a Barry M nail polish besides a chunky glitter and i am not sure how the formula is but fingers crossed.
on the last of my pastel shades this is my favourite of all! I received this in a set at Christmas and fell in love with the colour so i had to buy it full size so i did the other day and i don't regret one penny of it. I cant even say one bad thing about it. you need two coats for opacity but i think that is perfect.
I left this one to last as it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and as it is fairly sheer i think goes perfect over all of these shades above. Even though i said i am liking block colours i also like the occasional shimmer and with all the duo chrome in this it is hard not to like it.

This is what fantasy fire looks like over pool party. GORGEOUS isn't it? It is what i am wearing right now and i love it.

Lots of love,
Millie xoxo

NOTD!

Hello everyone!

Today i am doing a short little post on my NOTD (nails of the day) i will probably be doing these more often because i tend to switch up nail polish a lot as i love the stuff!

My nails are slightly random... i have only one weird colour on the right ring finger hahaa that red is O.P.I's color so hot it berns. this is the perfect red but tbh i think it stains my nails so i only really wanted on one finger. the other beautiful colour is O.P.I's Austin-tatious turquoise.

I'm going to call it Austin for short but Austin.... is the most BEAUTIFUL blue. it is shimmery, however to achieve opacity you need either 3 or 4 coats however the red has only one coat on it! i featured both of these in my O.P.I  nail polish collection and these are probably my favourite colours well nearly there :)

Lots of love,
Millie xoxo

What Has gone wrong?

Hello :)

As you may know, according to M.A.C's colouring i am in the shade NW20 well i have purchased (in different transactions) two items that claim to be "NW20" i have their Mineralize Satinfinish foundation and Select Moisture Cover.
Even in the bottle you can see a huge difference, this concealer is much to orange and to be honest is not what i wanted when i was looking for a concealer. The foundation is more what i was looking for and was purchased online but turned out fine. The concealer however was bought in a M.A.C shop.
It is very clear to me that this is not the same colour as you can see in the swatch of them side by side. I even questioned Emily are you sure that NW is pink toned when i first bought this and she was certain and when she saw it she was very shocked too as she is the same colour as me and this would defiantly not suit either of us.

M.A.C what has gone wrong?

Lots of Love

How to cleanse your makeup brushes

hey!

Well i was thinking about it and I'm not sure if it was just me but all of those youtube gurus where going on about you HAVE to clean your brushes but the first thing that fazed my mind was how do i even clean my brushes?

This is the product i will be using M.A.C's brush cleanser, but before we get into it i thought that i would let you all know how important it is to clean your brushes! So make sure you either every day (but not intensively) or every weekend when you have the time because i know for certain that on top of doing my makeup there is no way that i would ever have time to clean my brushes as well. So i intensively clean them every weekend or if i have no time once every two weekends :s But back into it, my cleanser is £8.50.

I will be showing you two brushes a foundation brush (which I'm not sure where it is from) and a buffing brush from ecotools, this has to be my favourite brush and i use it every singly day! It is soft and just on a whole gorgeous.
You are going to need kitchen roll (toilet paper will just rip when cleaning) and i use three pieces stacked up. Then you will need to get your brush, i am starting with the round buffing brush and as it is round you will need to go in circular motions. the same for a smaller round eye brush.

and for the flat foundation brush i would suggest going over the two slides back and forth:
For a more deep cleanse i just drip the cleanser onto the bristles and dry it in circular motions again on the kitchen roll.
After all of this you need to shape them to their original shape so that they don't dry weird and end up drying all funny.
Finally leave them to dry on their side, NOT UPRIGHT on a clean piece of kitchen roll.

Sorry this Post was mainly photos went a bit cray with them haha.
